Landescape (landescape.eu) is a Mediterranean association that operates in the Sicilian territory and promotes the reactivation of the cultural, social and economic fabric through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates contemporary art, local tradition and alternative teaching methods.
Landescape deals with three areas:
Political art
– Promotion of contemporary, experimental and avant-garde art as a tool for social change.
– Rediscovery of the Mediterranean culture through contemporary mediums and trends.
– Promotion of artistic actions based on an intersectional model between residences and different formats of public restitution (performances, exhibitions, talks …).
Rural tradition and economy
– Safeguard of the transmission and accessibility of knowledge of local wisdom and traditions through the integration of agricultural and rural activities with recreational, cultural and educational activities.
– Enhances the heritage of rural and local production systems, supporting the development of networks of direct farmers and consumers.
– Diffusion of ecological lifestyles and natural cycles of production and of consumption of food resources.
School/research
– Support of the discovery of inclinations and means of expression within convivial spaces, experimenting with cooperative, ecological and horizontal learning approaches.
– Affirmation of the value of lifestyles that promote knowledge and sharing as tools of emancipation and creation of an autonomous, critical and active political body.
– Research and experimentation of methods for the transmission of complex knowledge through the construction of simple and accessible languages and tools.
